The original, award-winning Garrison was a sculptural iron casting intended for use as a stool or side table. It recycled two tons of rebar, enough to release a limited-edition run of 102 units, salvaged from the 2015 demolition of the namesake Garrison bridge near Toronto’s Fort York. Limited to 7 units, the new 133-140 series Garrisons are cast in solid bronze with green patina and waxed finish. Honouring central-eastern Canada’s manufacturing heritage, the Garrisons are cast in sand- the same process used to produce machine parts for heavy industry which produces faintly perceptible irregularities that enhance their tactile appeal.
